Personalized Wedding Samplers

Summer will soon be here and so will the sound of wedding bells! Our personalized wedding samplers have been a very popular gift for many special couples. These can include their names and the date of their wedding. We have a variety of homespun fabrics to choose from for the background. These come framed with a black distressed frame and set under glass. We tea-dye the muslin to give the sampler an antiqued look.

Storage and getting organized

My craft work space/office is in need of some serious organization! My biggest need is some cabinets for storage and organization. My Dad had a huge old two door cabinet that he is letting me have to start the project. It great!! It 's about 7 feet tall and almost 5 feet wide. I love the way it looks too! :) I also have an antique wardrobe in the room that has a door and several drawers.

The next step will be to construct cabinets for the rest of the available wall space. I purchased 15 or so cabinet doors last year at a garage sale for 10 cents a piece not really knowing what I would eventually do with them. I am taking those door measurements and designing the size of the wall cabinets.

Just yesterday I drove by a pile of lumber out in someone's yard. I was able to salvage several 6 foot long shelving pieces and two medium sized scraps of bead board. All for $5.00. I'm getting pretty excited about all of the possibilities!! My husband, being so realistic, keeps my thoughts in perspective by reminding me that I really know nothing about cabinet making. While that is true, I still have hope!! He's is a great handy man and does know a little about the process, so I figure that if we put his knowledge together with all of my energy and excitement we might be able to make it work.

I will keep you updated on my organization progress.
