Christmas Open House

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...everywhere you go....

That's the scene at our house. We are stepping over berry garlands, wreaths and centerpieces. The floor has mounds of Christmas pillows and stacks of framed samplers dotting the carpet. Piles of freshly made baskets are awaiting their finishing touches. It may resemble the north pole as Santa and his elves kick into high gear a few weeks before Christmas. So, what's going on...you may ask?...we are gearing up for a huge Christmas Open House!! Over 30 other crafters are joining us also, bringing their handmade specialties for our show. We will then set up 7 rooms of our 1890 home as a big country craft store. We are going to be open November 20-22 for the community to come and enjoy! So...if you are going to be in northern Indiana during that weekend be sure to email me and I can get you the details and directions! I'd love to meet all of you!!

Our website has several new things going on too. We have added a Wish List. When you visit our web site and see something you would like to receive as a gift, click on the words "Add to Wish List" beside the add to cart button. You can then click on "My Wish List" on the left side on any page and see your list! It will be saved for your future visits and you can modify your list anytime. Email it to someone who may need some gift suggestions for you. Or, you can email it to yourself as a reminder to come back and shop later!

We've added some new personalized snowman items for all you snowman lovers out there! Both of these can have all the names of your family included.

IMPORTANT !!! In order to guarantee Christmas delivery, please place your order by November 23rd. Make your plans soon, especially if you are wanting any personalized items. Last year I had to tell customers no who waited too long to place their orders.

With all the Christmas excitement, I don't want forget to mention Thanksgiving. Sometimes we fly right passed taking time to be thankful for all of the blessings of the Lord. I trust you and your family can have a meaningful time of "thanks giving" in the next few weeks.

Many holiday blessings,
Jacki

Presidential Perspectives

In thinking about the election this morning, I was reminded of something I wrote down and saved to my files 8 years ago. I pulled it out and thought I would share it with you. It made me smile...

Emily and I were working on her Quiet Time for church and she needed to put a new person in her prayer booklet. I told her to draw a picture of a flag and then draw a man for the president of the United States. "Then you can pray for the president." I told her.

"I don't even know who the president is." She said. "I know," I said, " they are deciding today." "They are?" she asked. "Yes." I told her

"Is it going to be me?" she asked wide-eyed. "No honey, it's not going to be you."

"Oh man, if it was going to be me, I would give me a hundred bucks. And a big bag of candy" She then started to march around the room and say in her best deep "man" voice. "If I were president there would be more.. days.. of church!! And, morning Kindergartners would have more.. hours.. of school!!"

Well, there you have it. The main issues according to the youngest Alcorn. Life is so simple through the eyes of a six year old.
