New Primitive Samplers

We have added two new samplers to our product line at Hearthside Collection! These samplers would look great as a set or by themselves. Each one quotes a verse. Psalm 117:2 and Provers 3:6.

The day I finished stitching these samplers, I used my grungy recipe to make them look even more primitive. It was a pretty cold day, but the sun was shining. I put the samplers on some cardboard on the back deck to dry in the sun. It was a little breezy, so I put a table knife along the outside edges to weigh the samplers down. I checked them a couple minutes later and realized that it was windier than I thought. I put a couple more knives on each of the edges. I continued to check them often as I was anxious for them to dry so I could finish framing them. I was thinking "surely they will be dry now" as I opened the back door only to see one piece of cardboard blown up against the deck railing, knives scattered all over the deck and driveway and the samplers nowhere to be found!!

"They could be ANYWHERE!!" I thought as I scanned the deck, driveway and yard. I found one in a heap in one of my flower beds. I then looked through the opening in our fence and saw the other piece of cardboard in our neighbors yard. Unfortunately, the sampler was not with it. My husband and I continued to search our yard and our neighbor's. I had spent so much time creating this new design and I hated to see it gone with the wind! I humbly reminded myself that I HAD stitched a bible verse on it and if someone ELSE found it, maybe it could be a blessing to them. After taking a lunch break, I continued my quest. I went out in front of our house and walked up and down the sidewalks. I headed across the street to do the same. There... across the road, by the curb, was a messy heap of muslin. The sampler truly looked "grungy primitive" now!! With some tender loving care, I knew it would survive.

Sturbridge Candle Holders are back!!

We are excited to announce that our Sturbridge Candle Holders are back in stock! These come with a great new grungy candle. You can choose either vanilla or cinnamon scented. Another new product for February is our Wedding or Anniversary Pillow. This is made from cream chenille and has a 9 patch quilt pattern stitched to the front of the pillow. We will include the names and wedding date of your special couple!
