New Primitive Fall Samplers at Hearthside Collection!

Fall is just around the corner here in the midwest! The weather has been great...mild days and cool nights. OK, even COLD nights. Last night at the soccer game, I thought I was going to have to pull out my long underwear!! I truly love this time of year!

We have added some new fall samplers to our product line at Hearthside Collection. Use them to spruce up your home for fall or to remind you to be thankful all year long. The Lord is bountiful! Harvest time is a good time to remember His provision for each of us.

Textures of My Home

Each one of your homes have that unique feel and cozy warmth that make it your own. Have you ever stopped to think about what it is about your home that makes it "feel" the way it does? I was inspired by fellow bloggers to find and capture some of the 'Textures in My Home". Linda from Behind My Red Door showcased some of her textures this weekend and I decided to give it a try too. It's really pretty easy, you can just grab your camera and go. The hard part is not taking too many pictures!!

Back To School Buys!! ~ Primitive Chalkboards~

For most of us this is back to school week! The kids are excited, the parents have mixed feelings, and the teachers are ready to conquer another year! We started school last Friday. However, on Saturday our school had a fire in the computer lab. As a result we have been closed Monday and today. We have 2 daughters in high school, a senior and a freshman. They've managed to use their time off quite productively so far...shopping with friends...out to the movies...sleepover at the house with plenty of food and ice cream sundaes. It's as if we're having a little mini summer break.

My swap goodies!

This was my first swap! Char at Pickled Pepper Patch was the host and I had a lot of fun with it. My partner was Sondra from Home & Garden Grace. WOW!! She was amazing! I am so pleased with my goodies. I took several pictures of the items she sent.

First of all, she made 3 towels for my kitchen. They say faith hope and charity.
Next, she stitched this country home sampler that I adore. The little pillow is made from several different wool fabrics and is probably my favorite piece!
She also sent me this great golden yellow table runner.


And last but not least, she made this apron from an old flour sack. I think it is adorable and I love the way it looks hanging from my cupboard!
It was a great experience for my first swap! I'm anxious to try another one! I sent her several handmade things as well. She had some suggestions for me of sayings she would like stitched to use in her home. I made her a personalized sampler with her name and the year her marriage was established, a pillow with "Rise and Shine, Give God the Glory", a framed "Simplify" sampler and a couple of homespun pillows with rusty stars and hearts.
