Valentine's Day Primitives!

Valentines Day is next month and we are thrilled to offer some special new products we've created just for the holiday! There are some primitive pillows made with parts of 1 Corinthians 13. That chapter in the Bible describes some of the characteristics of love and helps us know what it's really supposed to look like.

Our online primitive country store, Hearthside Collection, has always accepted credit cards, checks and money orders. We are happy to announce that we also offer a "Paypal" option at checkout! Paypal is a preferred choice for many customers. It allows you to use your credit card or debit card depending on how your account is set up. New Primitive Country Products!

There are several new primitive country items available at Hearthside Collection! We've added a new "Tin Primitives" category with three plates and a star tissue holder.



We have some painted star magnets on our "Wood Primitives" page.






You'll also find a "Needfuls" category with things like silicone bulbs, replacement light strands and battery candles.



We have found a way to solve the "Oops,-we-have-more-people-in-our-family-now" problem! Maybe you have purchased one of our stick family samplers for yourself or as a gift and now the family has grown. When a new baby comes along or a son gets married, just order one of our Stick Family Add-ons! This was requested by Connie, one of our customers who has a new grandson since she ordered her stick family sampler. This sampler is 4x6 and designed to fit in to your wall grouping to include new family members.



Ginger, another customer requested a personalized tooth fairy pillow. We can add your child or grandchild's name to their very own pillow. There is a pocket on the front to hold that beloved tooth for safe keeping until the tooth fairy arrives. ( Many times, in our family, it was until the tooth fairy remembered!)

Personalized Family Quilt

This is one of our most exciting new products! This personalized family quilt took several months of planning and tweaking and we are so pleased to share it with you!

My parents, as do most, plan a lot of gatherings and activities with the whole gang. I have two sisters and between our families we have a total of 10 grand kids and my son is married. This now brings our gang total to 19. We love getting together with everyone. We spend time honoring birthdays, enjoying holidays, planning a family workday and many random Sunday afternoons at the lake. Mom is definitely the main event coordinator and she does her job well. We are often told weeks in advance what menu item we are to provide at the next shindig.



When you boil it all down, we are not just family - we are friends. I saw a sign that said "At Grandpa and Grandma's - where cousins become friends" several months ago. I immediately started planning how I could use that in something special for my Mom. The more I thought about the meaning, I started thinking about another new product, "Kids Art" I had recently added to Hearthside Collection. Kids Art is where I take a child's art picture and turn it into a framed sampler or pillow. So, I started meshing the kids art idea with the saying that I wanted to use, changed it to "-With Grandpa and Grandma - where cousins become friends" and came up with a Personalized Family Quilt unlike anything I had ever seen.



I'd like to take some time to share a little bit about each of our special pictures so bear with me please. The top left drawing is a picture of my Dad's shed. He is semi-retired with his own automotive product route. The kids spend a lot of time out with Grandpa in the "shop". This is also where he stores the 4 wheelers that have provided hours of muddy cousin fun over the years. Every year we have a Fall Party out by the shop. This is complete with a bonfire with roasted hot dogs, hot chocolate and a hayride - even if it's snowing. So, one of the grand kids dew his version of the shop with Grandpa's big truck.




Each of the grand kids are very involved in sports. Grandma and Grandpa give careful attention to detail and try to make as many games and tournaments as humanly possible. I know there are many days they could be 3 0r 4 places at once! My Mom is famous for her cookies! At least once a season, whatever the sport she brings cookies for each of the kids to share with the whole team. She has earned a reputation for making awesome chocolate chip cookies! You will often here teammates exclaim, when they catch a glimpse of Tupperware at a game, "Are those Grandma cookies?!" The bottom left picture depicts them on the bleachers watching various sports with each of the kids playing their and thinking about delicious cookies after the game.



Mom and Dad have a little house on a nearby private lake. We spend many hours each spring and summer enjoying the water, fishing and going for paddle boat rides. My Dad grows his own popcorn and enjoys popping a big kettle over the open campfire at the close of each day we spend at the lake.



This last year we had the amazing opportunity to be able spend Christmas together on the beach on Florida. All 19 of us! This last picture in the upper left corner of the quilt is a drawing made by the youngest granddaughter. This is her 6 year old interpretation of us all enjoying time together on the beach. Each of us have our initial above our head and she was careful to give all the the "gills" the same color of clothes and beach towels and all of the boys a different color.

As you can probably imagine, this gift is a special treasure for my Mom. That was my goal! She does so much for us and her and Dad wonderful parents and "famous" grandparents. It was really fun and a blessing to give her such a personal gift.



Our Personalized Family Quilts are going to be just that. There will never be two alike just as there are never two families alike. You may have a special saying or verse that you would like in the center of your family quilt. Or, instead of all 4 drawings, you may want to include an additional saying to replace one of the pictures. There are so many possibilities of ways this can be personalized! Pip Berry Garland!!

Does this ever happen to you? Christmas is over, you are putting away the last of your festive red and green decorations, you look around and...hmmm... it seems a little boring? I think many of our customers must have been feeling this way. We have gotten many requests for pip berry garlands and primitive centerpieces in the last two weeks. Well, we have good news!! We have restocked most of our pip berry garlands! Some come with the ever popular rusty stars and we've also made them available with lights. We have a good supply of burgundy, gold and cream to fit right in with you primitive country decorating. If you have a "boring" corner of your house, maybe pip berries are just what you need!

It is hard to believe we have been meeting new friends and creating primitive decor for your home for two whole years already!
